Well some incredible ordinary weather in the last couple of days int he region but its not enough to stop our Tour group. With the rain and hail smashing the pro-peloton in Andorra, we have headed in the opposite direction within France.

col-azetThe day after we said goodbye to the pro-peloton, we headed back over the Col de Peyresourde, to tackle a great climb and Tour regular since 1997 Col de Val Louron- Azet. A great 90km loop with 2500m of climbing, once you headed back over Col de Peyresourde. 2013 saw Aussie Simon Gerrans go over the top first and Spain’s Joaquim Rodriguez was first to the top in 2014. Will its not a high climb at under 1600m, it is a tough 7.4kms at a little over 8% average. Definitely not for the faint hearted. On our return over the Peyresourde no one could match Chris Froome’s descent, but then again who would want to try.

The next day with some still threatening weather, we thought a recover day was going to be most welcome. So some flatter roads were in order as we headed out through the valley to the beautiful little hamlet town of St.Beat (pronounced Be-At). A cruisey little 36km spin out and back. Just to recharge the legs ready for more. Tourmalet is on the horizon.

We are currently taking interest for our 2017 Tour de France tour. These are trips that you will never forget. There is high demand for this and our Giro tour so don’t delay else you will miss out.
