A Summer for new roads – Our Gravel Story

Are you sick of riding the same roads, week after week? The same roads that are becoming a bit more frequented by traffic. The mundane doesn’t need to remain as the mundane. It’s time to find YOUR new roads.

We really love riding the roads less travelled. We love finding new routes, whether it be locally in our beloved Dandenong and Yarra Ranges, in the Victoria Alpine regions or even overseas. We love the freedom of riding with a lack of traffic. We love exploring new, uncharted roads and that feeling. The feeling of a whole new experience.

In fact, we are eternally searching for them. We are looking for them all the time. We might be driving or riding down a road we know, but it’s always the road that heads off it, which we have not ridden, that catches our eye. It’s the one we commit to memory. It’s the one we plan to do ride next time.

This is going to be a multi-part blog around many of the aspects from OUR Gravel Story. It’s not just about the roads or events, we under take but also about where we ride, what we use, how we plan and why we ride.

We will write about our own bikes, gearing, the wheels and tyres we have run and tested, recommended computers, bottles, bags and most importantly where we ride. Hopefully you will join us on our adventures.

Our first blog piece will be around an amazing bike. So keep an eye out for it.

Fantastic service! Broke my free hub this morning out in Wonga Park. Got an Uber to CCW in Croydon. Springs promptly replaced. Back on the road within the hour. If you breakdown get an uber to CCW and have them fix your bike. Plenty of cafes across the road while you wait. Thank you CCW. I’ll get home now. Cheers Richard King
