The Focus Paralane is still a relatively newcomer to the Focus Road bike range, joining the stable in 2017, however it is a strong performing and versatile road bike. If you want to ride on the road, or your local bike path, maybe a rail trail or maybe even some gravel road – well this is a bike for everyone!

The roots of the Paralane lie in all day cycling. It’s the sort of bike that you can just set out at dawn with your friends, grab a bite around lunch time, continue on in the afternoon, wish your friends good night and roll in just before dinner. Just a full day’s comfortable riding.

What a comfy Ride

The Paralane is a joy to ride. A combination of its comfortable carbon (or aluminium) frames, with their relaxed geometry, higher head tube and coupled with some great group set, wheel and finishing kit options mean this bike is almost ready for any road surface. A disc brake bike, that enables a rider to simply go further.

As we mentioned earlier, this is one of the most versatile bikes on the market. You could tackle Around the Bay or even Falls Peaks on one of these and know that you could reach the other end comfortably. Perhaps its commuting. Whether it be, using the roads or navigating many of our local bike paths to get to and from work, nothing beats not being stuck in traffic. If it’s wet, no worries because the Paralane has ready-made mounts and a purpose build mudguard set if you require them.

A little gravel for all

Perhaps, you are looking for the road less travelled. Thinking about changing your view of the world by looking for new roads? Let’s face it, we are creatures of habit and tend to stick to the same roads. Now is your chance to expand your horizons. Just slip on some wider tyres, as the Paralane will take up to 35mm tyres, and leave the main roads. Ride some of the fine gravel roads in the Dandenongs and the Yarra Valley beyond.

But we haven’t finished quite there as there is one new element that has been added to this already great bike. Focus have brought its electric road bike to the market in the e-Paralane. With a fully integrated battery and motor this e-Bike looks just like a road bike. In fact remove the motor/battery unit and place its cover on the down tube and it rides just like a road bike.

With six models from Shimano 105 through to Shimano Dura Ace Di2, including a Gravel/Cross model, there is a model to suit everyone’s needs. There is also a flat bar commuter model that is sure to be a great option for anyone who rides to and from work. It comes with mudguards to make your trip to work as comfy and dry as possible.
